Tennis sensation Carlos Alcaraz paid tribute to Real Madrid and England star Jude Bellingham following his quarter-final victory at the US Open.
Alcaraz, who recently clinched the Wimbledon men's title in July, achieved a straight-sets victory over reigning champion Alexander Zverev in New York, advancing to the semi-finals. The Real Madrid supporter celebrated his win by replicating Bellingham signature goal celebration, a move the young English midfielder has displayed on several occasions for his club, including a last-minute winner against Getafe last weekend.
Bellingham took notice of Alcaraz's tribute and responded on social media with a message of encouragement, writing, "Keep going mate."
The 20-year-old Spanish tennis sensation has been following Bellingham's impressive form at Real Madrid since his £88.5 million transfer from Borussia Dortmund in the summer. Bellingham has made a significant impact at Los Blancos, contributing with five goals and one assist as the team currently tops La Liga under the management of Carlo Ancelotti.
Alcaraz is now set to face No.3 seed Daniil Medvedev in the US Open semi-finals on Friday, September 8, while the club's has joined up with the England national team for their European Championship qualifier against Ukraine and a friendly against Scotland.
