Vinicius Jr, Real Madrid's star, has accused Sevilla fans of racially abusing him during a recent match and has commended the club for swiftly ejecting the individuals responsible from the stadium.
In the 1-1 draw between Madrid and Sevilla at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, Vinicius Jr alleges that he was subjected to racist insults from home supporters, and he claims to possess video evidence supporting his claims.
Sevilla, according to Vinicius, identified and promptly removed the responsible individuals, including one child. Despite their quick response, the Brazil international expressed his sorrow at the involvement of a child in such behavior.
Vinicius Jr also highlighted that this incident marked the 19th time he has faced racial abuse and called upon Spanish authorities to take decisive action against those who engage in such behavior, including criminal penalties.
In a statement, he wrote: "Congratulations to Sevilla for their quick action and for penalizing yet another unfortunate episode in Spanish football."
"Regrettably, I was shown a video of another racist incident at Saturday's match, this time by a child. I am deeply disappointed that no one took the opportunity to educate them. I invest a significant amount in education in Brazil to cultivate citizens with a different mindset."
