Reports suggest that concerns have arisen among Manchester United staff regarding the involvement of Erik ten Hag's agent in the club's transfer activities.

  • SEG group oversaw summer deals
  • Club staff concerned over growing involvement
  • Erik ten Hag's son also works for a company

As detailed in the Daily Mail, Kees Vos, the agent of Erik ten Hag, has played a role in Manchester United's transfer dealings through the Sports Entertainment Group (SEG) firm, which he co-founded in 2000. Some members of United's staff have reportedly voiced unease about Vos' increasing influence behind the scenes, particularly his frequent visits to Old Trafford and the Carrington training ground.

In the recent summer transfer window, Manchester United invested a combined total of £178 million ($220 million) in players such as Rasmus Hojlund, Mason Mount, Andre Onana, and Altay Bayindir. Additionally, the club secured Sofyan Amrabat and Sergio Reguilon on loan. SEG represented Hojlund during negotiations with Atalanta, and Vos and SEG also played a role in the discussions that led to the signing of Amrabat from Fiorentina, which included an option to buy the Moroccan midfielder outright at the end of the season.

Manchester United sources have reportedly stated that senior officials at the club are comfortable with Vos' position and his relationship with Erik ten Hag. Notably, Erik ten Hag's son, Nigel, works as an analyst for SEG. United has argued that it is not uncommon for elite clubs to have established connections with specific player agencies.

As for the players, Rasmus Hojlund is in contention for his second consecutive start as Manchester United prepares for their upcoming Champions League match against Bayern Munich on Wednesday night. Whether Sofyan Amrabat will feature at the Allianz Stadium remains uncertain, as he withdrew from the latest Morocco squad due to injury.
