Manchester United is in advanced negotiations with American technology corporation Qualcomm for a potential front-of-shirt partnership.
According to The Athletic, the Premier League team is seeking an agreement that would provide them with an annual payment of £60 million ($75.1 million). However, due to the sale of many replica shirts for the current season, it is highly unlikely that the deal will come into effect immediately, with the expectation being that it will commence for the following campaign. Manchester United already has an existing partnership with Qualcomm, a company specializing in chips for telecom devices. In August 2022, the club signed a contract to promote Qualcomm's subsidiary brand, Snapdragon, which is used in various high-end electronic devices such as smartphones, PCs, gaming consoles, connected automobiles, smart wearables, and more worldwide. As part of the 2022 agreement, Qualcomm also committed to advising Manchester United on upcoming mobile connection enhancements at Old Trafford to enhance the fan experience.
If the deal is successfully reached between the Glazers-owned club and Qualcomm, the technology company will take over as the primary shirt sponsor for Manchester United, commencing from the start of the next season.
